Recognition
One of the two subspecies of Phrynops geoffroanus, Geoffroy's side-necked turtle. Formerly also Phrynops williamsi was considered a subspecies of P. geoffroanus. For a description, see the Geographic Variation section of Phrynops geoffroanus.
